Dr. Sawsan Merhej is an experienced consultant in obstetrics and gynecology with over 20 years of expertise. She obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) from Damascus University in 1998 and completed her specialization through the Arab Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology in 2006.
Dr. Merhej began her residency training at Tishreen Hospital in Damascus and has since worked at several prestigious hospitals across the GCC before relocating to the UAE in 2017. She also holds a diploma in laparoscopic surgery from New Delhi, India, and a specialized Master’s degree in Ultrasound from the University of Sharjah, awarded in 2021.

Dr. Merhej has extensive experience in managing and following up on normal and high-risk pregnancies, performing 4D ultrasound scans, and conducting all types of deliveries, including natural, cesarean, and assisted births. She specializes in the management and treatment of various gynecological conditions such as menstrual disorders, polycystic ovary syndrome, sexually transmitted infections, menopause complaints, delayed pregnancy, and the treatment of recurrent miscarriages. Dr. Merhej is also skilled in performing laparoscopic surgeries, including fibroid removal, ovarian cystectomy, hysterectomy, and hysteroscopy. She is certified in the field of cosmetic gynecology, which includes surgical procedures like labiaplasty and non-surgical treatments using fillers, laser, and Botox.
Dr. Merhej is a member of the Syrian Medical Association, the Syrian Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology.
